July 24th to July 28th

Author and illustrator Kevin Henkes has been creating imaginative children’s books for over thirty years.  The children will be transported to his wonderful world of unique characters, all with steadfast characteristics such as bravery, tenacity and sensitivity.  The children will be reading, discussing, and then completing his downloadable activities from his website.  The students will also create their own stories that we will publish for your viewing in their Summer Camp library.

A trip to the Moncton Library is also scheduled.

July 17th to July 21st

Music is a universal language, and during this upbeat week, we’ll learn about different instruments, music styles, and how to incorporate movement with music.

We finish the week with our traditional visit to Long & McQuade where they open up the store before retail hours, and turn on all the instruments for the students to try!

July 10th to July 14th

Did you know that New Brunswick is home to the warmest ocean waters north of the Carolinas?  This fertile ocean playground is home to some very unique and interesting ocean flora and sea life, and we will be investigating some of the more peculiar species native to our province.

Visits to the Tidal Bore Centre in Moncton and the Homard Centre in Shediac are planned.

July 4th to July 7th

Our fascination with our solar system and beyond captures the imagination of students of all ages.  During this spaced out week, we will learn about the characteristics of planets and solar systems in our galaxy.

We will wrap up the week with a trip to the Observatory at U de M.

June 26th to June 30th

Canada 150. Canada’s birthday. The sesquicentennial. It’s your birthday, Canada, make a wish. Make it count!

We will be celebrating along with all of the country during this historic week, looking at our rich history and heritage in New Brunswick.  We will finish the week with a field trip to the downtown festivities taking place on Friday.

As the students delve into the wide world of sports, they will learn about all of the professional sports teams that Canada has, and then test their own skills as they pick one sport to play each day of the week.

The week and our Summer Camps finish with a final field trip to the Crossman Kay Community Centre!

August 21st to August 25th

Hey, mom and dad…need some help in the kitchen?  Our epicurious students will be learning the basic fundamentals of cooking, but more importantly, about healthy nutrition.  Throughout the week, they will be planning meals with ingredients they like and are good for them.  The execution of their meal plan teaches them to follow instructions, math concepts through measurement, and encourages creativity.

August 14th to August 18th

“The hands are the instruments of man’s intelligence”Maria Montessori, 1870-1952

Maria Montessori once stated “How can anyone paint who cannot grade colours? How can anyone write poetry who has not learnt to hear and see?”

During this creative week we’ll examine and produce different forms of art, as well as learn how to convey our thoughts and feelings through individual creativity.  Parents will be invited to “Studio 1535” for a private art gallery viewing on Friday!

Even at a young age, science technology is a very fascinating topic.  During this week of experiments and exploration, we will dive into our world of natural science and physical phenomena, conducting tests and trials while predicting the outcomes beforehand.

This week of curiosities will wrap up with a field trip to the Mount Allison University Psychology Department.

In advance of New Brunswick Day on August 7^th, we will study our Province’s history and geography compared to the rest of Canada, identifying what makes us so unique relative to our neighbours, proudly celebrating our differences.

The week wraps up with a visit to Hopewell Rocks.
