Miss Shantele has been part of the Montessori community for decades. Her introduction was her employment as an afterschool assistant at a local Montessori school while obtaining her Honours Bachelor of Arts degree at York University (May 2004). She majored in English and minored in History. Determined to follow her passion in early childhood education, she enrolled in the Foundation for Montessori Education in Toronto. Under the tutelage of Sandra Girlato and Lynn Woodward, she received her internationally recognized Primary Teaching Certification (May 2005). She has been a lead guide since September 2005. Ms. Shantele, the life long student, continued graduate work in 2012 completing a certificate in Family Supports at Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University). Ms. Shantele is a strong supporter of a holistic approach to education. She attempts to create a prepared environment where her students feel valued, engaged in meaningful learning experiences, and most importantly, supported in their individual learning journey.
