~Andrea & Blair MannI cannot express in a few short paragraphs how happy I am that we found Kingswood Academy Daycare.
My daughter has been there since she was 2 years old and is graduating this year. She went from being a painful shy to outgoing. At her graduation she read an entire book. I immediately enrolled my son there as well. He loves it too. The teaching is excellent; the facilities are second to none. But for me, these are bonuses. My primary concern is my daughter’s safety. When I drop her off there, it is as if I am dropping her off at her grandmother’s home. I feel 100% at ease. My secondary concern is her happiness. She loves it there and loves her teacher’s very much. She talks about them at home and even makes crafts for them to take in the next morning.
The teachers are excellent and caring, they know all the kids and surprisingly, even the kids of all ages seem to know each other as well. The school has many programs to enrich their experience. My kids have taken music classes, soccer tots, and soon to start hockey tots. They have loads of field trips as well – which they really look forward to.
The owners and operators, Debra and Richard are fantastic. They leave no stone unturned on a daily basis. I can guarantee there is nobody more devoted to these kids and the facilities as Debra and Richard. They are there everyday and probably most evenings as well. Debra knows all the kids and parents by name. The communication lines are always open.
I can provide several examples where Debra and Richard went way beyond the extra mile caring for my children:
- When both kids started they were pretty shy, she personally showed up early every morning to make the hand-off transition much easier.
- My daughter went through a period where she didn’t want to go to school anymore. She had a lot of anxiety about going. This seemed to happen overnight. I was concerned that something happened at school. Debra personally interviewed everyone and even monitored her interactions for several days. It turned out to be just a phase, but to know she got that kind of attention was so comforting.
- My daughter still loves her baby blanket (num-num). She never sleeps without it. One night we forgot it at school and didn’t realize till bedtime. She was very upset. I thought to myself I have seen Debra and Richard working late many evenings as I drove past – maybe they are still there. Of course, I got there, saw their car and sure enough they were working late. The funny part was, she opened the door for me and said, you forgot num-num didn’t you?
- Just recently at the graduation ceremony at Crandall University, my son was with us in the audience and was sick to his stomach all over himself and my wife. Richard somehow noticed the incident and purchased a shirt out of his own wallet at the bookstore to put on my son since his clothes were covered in vomit.
Another major benefit of Kingswood is that my kids have made so many friends at the daycare and will continue these friendships at Evergreen. It will make that transition so much easier to see their friends in their classes and on the playground when making the jump to larger school. And to top it off Kingswood offers after school care. They will be able to return to an environment and faces they are more than familiar with. Once again, I am so glad we found Kingswood, I cant imagine leaving my kids for the day anywhere else. They love it as kids, we love it as parents – and they are learning so much on top of it all!
