School Closures

We strive to serve families by keeping our doors open for all scheduled hours, we do occasionally close for various circumstances.

See below for our closure schedule and policies.

We are closed for the following holidays:

We have an annual professional development day each September that is attended by Early Childhood Educators from around the province

As is the tradition with Montessori Private Schools, we will be following the New Brunswick Board of Education Anglophone East District School Closure Schedule.

As such, Montessori Programs have additional scheduled closures for the following occasions:

Ask us about After School options for the Breaks, or about Montessori Summer Camps during the Summer

In the event of inclement weather, we follow recommendations from the Anglophone East School District, the City of Moncton, and the Codiac RCMP, and close various programs based upon information from those sources:

• The whole centre will close under the following conditions: if the Codiac busses are pulled off the roads, or if the centre loses power or water.
• If we need to close, notifications will be posted on Facebook.
• If we open and then have to close during the day, we will also notify parents with a phone call

When the public schools due to weather conditions,

• Students in After School Care may be dropped off for the full day;
• The Nature Centre will be open – please drop students off at 1530 Ryan St;
• After School students should come with a packed lunch and snacks for morning and afternoon;
• All field trips scheduled for that day are canceled;

When public schools are cancelled, Montessori Toddler, Casa and Elementary remain open.

Since our Montessori Elementary children are driven to school by their parents, we do not have to make closure decisions based on school busses or children walking to school. It is your choice whether you wish to bring your child to school on these days. We will not introduce any new material on snow days, and children may be combined in different classrooms. Please let us know if your child(ren) will be attending on snow days so we can schedule our teachers.
